Eagle Nest Golf Club was carved out of a serene Carolina Pine forest. The fairways are lined with trees but have welcoming landing areas. Shallow bunkers are placed throughout the course to challenge players to be accurate. The backdrop of Eagle Nest is home to an abundance of wildlife. This allows golfers a relaxing and visually stimulating round of golf. Eagle Nest also has natural obstacles throughout the golf course. Cypress trees rise out of the ponds and Willow trees sway in the gentle Carolina breeze. Golfers will be welcomed by a playable and fun layout but will be sent off with a challenge. Eagle Nest is said to have the three most challenging finishing holes along the Grand Strand.
The 16th hole at Eagle Nest is a long 449 -yard par 4. The hole is pretty straight but has a defensive pond in front of the green and bunkers guarding the rest of the green. The 17th hole is a 616-yard par 5. The 17th is one of the longest holes on the Grand Strand. The approach shot will have to be hit over water into a green guarded by yet more bunkers. The 18th hole is a par 3 that is not terribly long. It is however, guarded by another pond and 4 bunkers. The last three holes are a memorable way to end a great round of golf.
Make sure to arrive a little early for your tee time and take advantage of their driving range and putting green. The pro shop has a great selection of apparel, golf balls and clubs, and souvenirs.
